Terms of use

These terms apply when you create an account with 4D Sourcing, operated by 4D Sourcing Inc., a company registered in Delaware, United States, and use our services.

1. Accounts

  • Accounts are for businesses that buy chemicals or ingredients. Register with an email address you use and can receive mail at. Temporary or throwaway email addresses are not accepted. We may later ask you to confirm your company, for example with a work email address or a company registration document.
  • Give accurate details and keep your sign-in private. One account per person.
  • Company accounts. Each person at your company opens their own account. Accounts are not joined, and you cannot see each other's requests.
  • We may decline or close an account that gives false details or misuses the service.

2. Free factory checks

  • You can earn up to three free factory checks: one when you create your account and confirm your email address, one when you complete About you, and one when you complete About your company.
  • The About you and About your company checks are given once per company. We decide what counts as the same company, for example from the company's email domain, name or website.
  • Before we add a free check, we check that the details you gave are genuine. If they are not, or if the service is misused, we may not add the check, or we may remove one that hasn't been used. Our decision is final; if you think we made a mistake, write to info@4dsourcing.com.
  • Free checks can be used for Check a factory only. Our team approves each free request before research starts.
  • From time to time we may also offer free factory checks through a promotional code. Each offer says how many checks it gives and who can use it, and we may end an offer at any time.
  • Free checks already added to your account do not expire. If we change this, we will tell you by email first. The price of a factory check is shown on our Pricing page.
  • Free checks have no cash value and cannot be transferred.

3. Prices, payment and refunds

  • Our prices are shown on our Pricing page, in US dollars. We accept payment in US dollars only.
  • Before we start a paid piece of work, we send you a quote. If you accept it, 4D Sourcing Inc. sends you an invoice through Stripe, our payment service, and you pay it by card on Stripe's payment page. We do not see your full card number.
  • Work starts after your payment arrives.
  • An invoice that isn't paid within 7 days is cancelled.
  • We do not give refunds as money back. If you are owed a refund, we give you a credit instead, for the part of your payment that hasn't been used yet. The credit is added to your account, and you can use it for anything on our Pricing page. Credits do not expire and have no cash value.

4. What our research is, and is not

  • Our reports are researched from public sources and reviewed by our team in China. Each answer shows where it came from and how strong the evidence is, and each report says what we could not find.
  • A standard factory check does not include visiting the factory, contacting the supplier or confirming certificates with the issuer, unless we agree otherwise in writing.
  • Our research helps your decision; it does not replace your own checks before you buy, such as confirming certificates with the issuers and testing samples.

5. Your files and our reports

  • Files you upload stay yours. You allow us to use them to research for you and, with all names removed, for our price and quality benchmarks. Only upload files you are allowed to share; you may black out names first.
  • You may pass a report to your own customers as it is, with our name on it. Please do not change a report and present it as ours, or publish it.

6. Acceptable use

Do not copy the site's content in bulk, resell our reports, upload anything unlawful, or try to get around the account checks.

7. Law, changes and contact

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware. We may update these terms; we will tell account holders about material changes by email. Questions: info@4dsourcing.com.
